After a vacation, we all find it difficult to get back into our work routine. Here are some tips on how you can best organize yourself to get back into the swing of things. With these tricks you will be full of energy from the first day and motivated to complete your tasks.

Organize yourself in time

The key to a pleasant start after the vacation is proper organization in advance. Take time before the vacation to organize appointments and tasks that you will have after the vacation. Create a list in your agenda or on your cell phone, which you can access on the first day back for orientation.

However, do not do this on your last day of work, but rather a few days before. This way, you can protect yourself in case you get unexpected tasks from your boss. Also, sort out your workspace and computer desktop.

Isn’t it nicer to return to the office when it has been thoroughly cleaned up? If you leave behind a mess, it will be even more difficult for you to find enough motivation to start again.

Return from vacation the day before

Most people want to enjoy every minute of their long-awaited vacation. However, consider returning home a day early. The reason: if you start work on Monday and return home on Saturday, you’ll have plenty of time to really arrive. You can use the extra day at home to do the weekly shopping and laundry. You can also take your time to think about your priorities for the first week of work.

This way you avoid overloading yourself. However, if you arrive the day before you return home, you will most likely start your first day of work tired and stressed.

Rest

Try not to look at your emails during the vacations, unless it is an emergency. Let your co-workers know that you’re resting and will not be available until you return from vacation. If you can’t leave it alone, mark emails by priority. When you return to the office, you’ll have them ready to respond to.

Be the first person in the office

The less noise in the office, the better you start your first day. So try to be there before everyone else. That way, you have a hour before the phone calls and staff meetings start all around you. This way. you can answer all the e-mails in peace and make a good impression on the boss.

Return to your training routine

Almost no one trains as consistently during the vacations as they do on a day-to-day basis. However, on the first day of work don’t skip your workout. Try to move around, because this will help your concentration during work. It will also help you to find a balance between the stressful workday and your free time.

Here you will find tips on how to start training again after a long break.

Eat healthy

Most people indulge in a little extra food now and then while on vacation. Take good care of a balanced and healthy diet, especially during the first week of work. Avoid unhealthy food, as this will rob you of the energy you need to start your day with motivation. Check out the following articles for valuable tips.

Go to bed early

It is important that you then go to bed according to your daily routine. So, you start the first working day back in your usual sleep cycle. This way you will have enough energy after the vacation.

Avoid caffeine in the afternoon. If you find it difficult to go back to sleep at a normal time, the following tip will help: eat a little earlier and lighter.

With all these tips, you will quickly find your way back into everyday life and will be motivated to work again on the first day.
